Obituary
Robert Gene Goodin, Sr., age 63, of Pekin passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Scott Memorial Health. Born December 26, 1959 in Amherst, Ohio, he was the son of the late Curtis Goodin and Mary Williams who survives. On March 16, 1994, he married Michele Goodin who preceded him in death on October 5, 2022.
Robert was a retired truck driver; in his 41 years of service, he drove roughly 5 million miles.
He is survived by a son, Robert Goodin, Jr.; mother, Mary Williams; 6 sisters: Carol Morris, Karen Goodin, Bonnie Goodin, Loretta Goodin, Tammy Hunkley, and Sarah Goodin; 2 brothers: Kim Keith and Jeff Hook; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Michele Goodin; sister, Jennifer Hook; and brother, Gary Goodin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Pekin Chapel with Robert Goodin, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, June 9, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem.
