Michael John Betke
Obituary
Michael John Betke passed away at his home in Salem on Wednesday, July 5th, at the age of 80 after a long illness. Born May 5th, 1943, he was the son of Edward and Margaret (Steffes) Betke.
Michael is one of the owners of WeaponsPro, LLC in Salem.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Michael earned a degree in engineering from Wayne State University in Michigan at age 50. He resided in Arizona and Kalamazoo Michigan while working for Pfizer, which he retired from in 2010. After moving to Salem he opened the WeaponsPro gun store with his wife and son William.
Michael is survived by his wife Cherie; 6 sons: Brian (Brenda) of Forks Township, PA, Gary (Jayme) of North Port, FL, William LaChappelle of Salem, IN, Jason (Paula) Macy of Springfield, MO, James (Jayme) Macy of Pheonix, AZ, and Christopher (Jennie) Macy of Cave Creek, AZ; 15 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Service will be held on Saturday, July 8, at 3:30 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home, Salem Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. There will be a reception following the service at the Cobblestone Inn & Suites meeting room.
