Obituary

Joan K. Dethy, age 80, of Borden passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Harrison Health Center. Born November 22, 1942, she was the daughter of the late N. Bodine Voyles and Hazel (Blankenbaker) Voyles. On November 7, 2000, she married Jim Dethy who survives.

Joan was a Teller at New Washington State Bank, until she retired in 2008.

She is survived by her husband: Jim Dethy; 1 son: Rick Hurst (Lori); 1 step-daughter: Kim Banet (Jeff); 1 step-son: Jeff Dethy (Stephanie); and 8 grandchildren: Nicole Love (Derek), Brandon Banet (Vanessa Conway), Kaylee Gehlbach (Dylan), Kamden Hurst, Trenton Dethy, Payton Dethy, Rileigh Dethy, and Avery Dethy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters; 1 granddaughter: Karissa Hurst and first husband: Ronald L. Hurst.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 2023 at 2:00pm at the First Christian Church of Borden with Bro. Brian Combs officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of St. Croix, Harrison Healthcare, or the First Christian Church of Borden.
