Obituary
Jim Hardy, age 69, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his residence. Born August 31, 1953 in Borden, he was the son of the late Charles Hardy and Virginia (South) Hardy. On July 1, 1974, he married Doris (Casey) Hardy who survives.
Jim was a life-long cabinet maker and was formerly employed with R&D Homes; he was a member of the Borden Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Hardy; 4 children: James "JJ" Hardy, Jr. (Christy), Charles Hardy (Cindy), Mitchell Hardy (Misty), and Gertie Collier (Richard); 2 brothers: Anthony Hardy and Bobby Hardy; 2 sisters: Anna Roningen and Jennifer Ripley; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Virginia Hardy; and 2 sisters: Pauletta Hardy and Reba Sargent.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Borden Chapel with Mike Sargent and Joe Tabor officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
