Carolyn Dean Carlyle Obituary

Carolyn Dean Carlyle was born in Salem, IN, on September 13, 1926, to Everett and Lena Graves Dean, in the Salem home of her grandparents, J.T.J. and Leota Cauble Graves on Market Street. The Deans lived in Bloomington where Everett was the basketball and baseball Coach at Indiana University. The Family was joined by Nancy on October 30, 1928. In 1938, the family moved to Stanford University, CA, where Everett became the basketball coach.

Carolyn graduated from Palo Alto High School, then attended the College of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. She married Robert J Carlyle in 1974, in Miami, FL. They moved to Charlotta NC, in 1978, and after Robert's death in 2006, she moved to Bloomington, IN, to reside in Meadowood Retirement Home. In 2015, Carolyn moved to Idaho to be near her sister Nancy and her family in Caldwell.

She is survived by her sister Nancy Baxter, Caldwell, ID and her family: Tom (Jane) Baxter, Barbara Baxter, Jane Gardner, Martha (Steve) Subia, Louise (Cory) Russell and numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins Gary (Sylvia) Graves and Paulajo (Gary Don) Gross.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents J.T.J. and Leota Cauble Graves and William F. and Cora Bowles Dean; aunts Ruby Graves (Charles) McBride, Elizabeth Graves (Veryl) Ebert; uncles Paul (Mary Joe Perkins) Graves and George (Estelle Mull) Graves; cousins Betty McBride (Bob) Getman, David (Ruth) McBride, John (Dwayne) McBride, and Thomas Ebert.

She is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Salem, next to her parents and husband, under the attention of Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home, Salem.
