Carl L. Balentine

Carl L. Balentine, age 92, of Borden, Indiana passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital.  Born November 24, 1929 in Pekin, he was the son of the late Claudie Ray Balentine and Irene (Martin) Balentine.

Carl was a retired mechanic; retiree of Haas Cabinet; was the eldest member of Borden Community Church; and was a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Lee (Gilstrap) Balentine; 4 sons: Johnnie Balentine, Von Lee Balentine (Jenny Kay), Donnie Ray Balentine (Jody Ann), and Lonnie Gene Balentine; 2 step-sons: Martin H. Doan and Michael J. Doan (Nyoka Elizabeth); 3 brothers: Floyd Balentine, Ernie Balentine, and Randy Balentine; 2 sisters: Jean Churchman and Mary Ann Lang; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudie and Irene Balentine; wife, Darylene (Waggoner) Balentine; 1 brother; and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Borden Community Church with John Beasley officiating.  Visitation will be held Friday, December 3, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.  Burial to follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
