Burma F. Coomer, age 74, of Salem passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at her residence. Born August 3, 1947 in New Albany, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Russell Pendleton and Rhoda (Pennington) Pendleton.
Burma retired from Silvercrest Childrens Development Center in New Albany and was a member of Campbellsburg Christian Church.
She is survived by 4 children: Teresa Fitch (Frank), Tina Lewis (Tony), Rick Coomer (Shonna), and Melissa Weber; 3 brothers: Larry Pendleton, Danny Pendleton, and Randy Pendleton; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Coomer; parents, Russell and Rhoda Pendleton; 1 son, Steve Coomer; and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Salem Chapel with Don Hicks officiating; visitation will be held Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Washington County or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
