Betty Lou Forbes
Obituary
Betty Lou Forbes, age 79, of Salem passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent Salem Hospital. Born January 25, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Rader and Lois (Isenogle) Rader. On September 3, 1965, she married David Forbes who survives.
Betty was the former owner and operator of The Philadelphia Retirement Home in Salem; a member of Beta Sigma Phi; and active in the Mt. Hebron Church.
She is survived by her husband, David Forbes; 2 children: Scott Forbes (Julie) and Diana Brown (Darin); brother, Don Rader (Libby); and 4 grandchildren: Cassidy Forbes, Makalynn Funk (Taylor), Gabriel Forbes, and Hannah Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Lois Rader.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Salem Chapel with Bro. Rodney Sweeney officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 16, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington.
