Wilma Jean Jarvis

Wilma Jean Jarvis, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St Vincent Salem Hospital. Born May 15, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Clay Hackney and Imelda (Cooney) Hackney.

Wilma was a tax preparer for H&R Block with 45+ years of service and a member of Liberty Christian Church in Orleans, Indiana.

Wilma is survived by her son, Jimmy Jarvis; 6 grandchildren: Zach Ruppel, Noah Ruppel, Elijah Ruppel, Quinn Jarvis, Joshua Fisher and Evan Embry; 3 great grandchildren: Alexia Wolfston, Evelyn Ruppel, Raven Fisher and Several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters: Lori Jean Ruppel and Jennifer Jarvis; 4 brothers: Clifton Hackney, James Hackney, Ronald Hackney, Keith Hackney and 1 sister: Barbara Noel.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 10, at 1:00 P.M. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home- Salem chapel. Burial to follow at Lawrenceport Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
