William Charles "Bill" Kuntz Jr. was born September 25, 1938, in Covington. Kentucky., to Lettie Lincks Kuntz and William C. Kuntz, Sr.
He spent his early childhood in London, Ky., before moving with his mother, Aunt Betty Lincks, and Uncle John "Bub" Lincks' family to the Dutch Creek / Martinsburg area of Washington County, Indiana.
He was a member of the Pekin High School Class of 1957. He was a veteran of the Air Force Reserves. In 1962 he married Janice Kay Fultz of Campbellsburg, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, and two children, Melanie Kuntz (Jeff Prechtel) and Billy Kuntz, as well as several nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles, and in-laws Esther & Alvia Fultz.
Bill worked almost 36 years at The Bremner Biscuit Company (later Ralston - Purina) in Louisville and Princeton, Kentucky. He was a dedicated employee and worked his way up in the company from a production worker, to maintenance foreman, and then on to night shift plant manager. He was a member of the Baker's and confectionary Union.
He was a founding member of Random Rydes Car Club, a member of the National Street Rod Association, and of South Hoosiers Street Rods.
Bill was known for his amazing talent for metal fabrication and his love of speed. He shared his passion for speed and custom-built cars with his son Billy, and they spent many happy hours in his shop, along with a multitude of friends, building custom vans, motorcycles, street rods, and race cars throughout the years.
He and Jan traveled to California in one of his custom-built street rods, and spent many happy times with friends attending cruise-ins and car shows.
Bill traveled to the Bonnieville Salt Flats multiple times, where he raced, watched his son Billy race, and in 2010 realized a dream of seeing a car he built set a land speed record and again in 2015 at the Ohio Mile.
The family has chosen cremation at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Washington County Shop With A Cop or Crusade for Children.
