William Gilbert

William Gilbert, 74 of Livonia, Indiana passed away on August 12, 2017 at his residence. He was born on December 20, 1942 in Clay County, Kentucky. William was a gunsmith & made custom knives. He was a member of the NRA and was a proud fan of the Kentucky Wildcats basketball program. Survivors include 2 sons, Brian & Bradley Gilbert; daughter, Kelly Sorg; 3 step-daughters, Marilea Grider, Julie Doerge & Alice Johnson; 2 brothers, Don Gilbert Sr. & Orville Gilbert; 2 sisters, Mary Pickerill & Esther Chastain; 10 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cauble Gilbert, and parents, Bige Gilbert & Martha Bowling Gilbert. Visitation will be from 11-1 PM Monday, August 14, at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem followed by a graveside service at Crown Hill Cemetery.
