William Francis "Bill" Pixley, age 87, formally of Pekin, passed away Saturday March 23, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House in Concord, North Carolina.
Born on June 12, 1925 in Clark County Indiana, he was the son of the late John William Pixley and Ruth Hoke Pixley.
He was a member of the Bunker Hill Christian Church. He was a mechanic by trade, working at the Walter Cook's Garage of Salem, Indiana. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving as an Artillery Gunman.
Survivors include: 1 son, Larry William (Regina) Pixley; 2 daughters, Joyce Yvonne (Ken) Helms and Laura June Knight; 2 brothers, Erman Pixley and Gerald Pixley; 3 sisters, Fern Davis, Mildred Cunningham and Donna Morris; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by: wife Juanita June Ray Pixley, 1 son, 1 brother, 2 sisters and 1 grandson.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Friday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM Friday until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Daisy Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
