Walter Ronald Johnson

Walter Ronald Johnson, age 93, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Meadowview Health & Rehab Center.  Born June 9, 1930, he was the son of the late Emmitt Andrew and Mary Johnson.

Walter was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War.  He was a graduate of Purdue University, a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, and the Speedway Masonic Lodge no. 500.

Walter is survived by his 2 daughters: Teresa Johnson and Karen Kauffman (Wayne); 1 sister, Mary Lou Baldwin; and 2 grandchildren: Leah Hahn (Terrance), and Seth Kauffman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt and Mary Johnson, and his wife of over 65 years, Wanda (Elliott) Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, at 11 am at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home – Salem Chapel, with Tom Fultz officiating.  Burial to follow at Franklin cemetery with full military honors.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home.
