Veletta Kay Blackman, age 68, of Borden, passed away Friday January 10, 2014 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born on November 29, 1945 in New Castle, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Louis Pursifull and Merle (Noel) Pursifull.
She was a Self-Employed Artist. She was a member of the Pekin First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: husband, Gary Alan Blackman of Borden; 1 son, Todd Alan Blackman of Borden; 1 daughter, Tonya Ann Blackman of Borden; 3 brothers, Casper Pursifull of Texas, Louis Pursifull Jr. of New York, and Michael Pursifull of New Castle, Indiana; 2 sisters, Juelane Matney of Rushville, Indiana, and Tina Drew of Connersville, Indiana; 3 grandchildren, Keegan Proctor, Kaleb Proctor, and John Blackman.
Preceded in death by: 1 brother and 1 sister.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday January 18th at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Borden. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Friday and Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be at Martinsburg Cemetery. Brother Jerry Goodwin will officiate.
