Teresa Yvonne Johnson

Teresa Yvonne Johnson, age 68, of Salem, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Salem Crossing due to complications from diabetes. Born October 8, 1958, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Walter Ronald Johnson and Wanda Jean (Elliott) Johnson.

Teresa attended James Robby Elementary School and Fulton Junior High before graduating from Ben Davis High School. She attended Ball State University, where she studied history, and later returned to pursue library science and obtain her teaching license.

She was a retired substitute teacher who worked for the Logansport and Shelbyville school systems. She attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

Teresa enjoyed traveling, participating in senior groups, and spending time at the senior center. Bingo was her passion, and she rarely missed an opportunity to play.

She is survived by her sister, Karen Marie (Johnson) Kauffman; brother-in-law, Elroy Wayne Kauffman; niece, Leah Marie (Kauffman) Hahn; and nephew, Seth Jacob Kauffman.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has been chosen; graveside services will be held at a later date and time with burial to follow at the Franklin Cemetery in Salem.
