Steven D. Johnson, age 76, of Salem, died November 15, 2012 at University of Louisville Hospital. Born on August 20, 1936 in Campbellsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Carl M. Johnson and Ethel (Walton) Johnson. On July 20, 1962, he married Jean (Cole) Johnson, who survives.
He was a Retired Navy Veteran of 21 years. He served during the Korean Conflict. He was of Baptist Faith.
Survivors include; wife, Jean (Cole) Johnson of Salem, Indiana; 3 daughters, Joni Renee Walter and Cheryl Dee Garman both of Portland Oregon, and April Noel Cullins of Salem, Indiana; 2 brothers, Brad Johnson of Canton, Indiana, and Carl Johnson of Campbellsburg, Indiana; 4 sisters, Rita Yeamans of Idaho, Jessie Clayton of Salem, Indiana, Della Smith of Columbus, Indiana, and Donna Smith of Campbellsburg, Indiana; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by; parents, 1 son, Troy Duane Johnson; 2 brothers, Art Johnson and Buck Johnson; 1 sister Belinda Brough.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM Saturday until time of service at the funeral home.
Brother Rodney Sweeney will officiate. Cremation will follow. A memorial service will be at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Madison Indiana at 11:00 AM on Thursday December 13, 2012.
