Stanley Elwood Smith Sr.

Stanley Elwood Smith Sr. age 74, formerly of Salem, passed away January 6, 2015 in Indianapolis. Born on August 2, 1940 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the late Harold Ashby Smith and Lela Pauline (Nicholson) Coffer. Survivors include: wife, Lavella M. (Higginbotham) Smith; 3 sons, Leo Burns, Stanley Smith Jr., and Robert Smith; 1 daughter, Mary Weddle; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; cousin, Ronald Nicholson. Preceded in death by: parents, 1 son, John Burns Jr. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Monday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery. www.hughestaylor.net
