Robert Hardy, age 72 of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital. Born September 8, 1951, he was the son of the late Charles and Virginia Hardy.
Robert served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Borden Baptist Church.
Robert is survived by his son, Merle Dale Hardy; 1 brother, Anthony Hardy; and 2 sisters: Anna Roningen and Jennifer Ripley; 3 grandchildren: Michael Dale Hardy, Savannah Michaels, and Maranda Hardy; and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Virginia Hardy; 1 brother, Jim Hardy; and 3 sisters: Pauletta Hardy, Reba Sargent and Patty Hardy.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, at 1 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home – Borden Chapel, with burial to follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
