Robert Earl Edward Dean, age 73, of Salem, passed away on July 4, 2014 at the Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was born on October 19, 1941 in Chevrolet, Kentucky.
He was formerly employed at Salem Poultry. He was a Retired Self-Employed Truck Drive. He was a member of the Underwood Baptist Church. He was a member of the Salem Masonic Lodge #21, York Rite, Eagles, and the Kentucky Colonels.
Survivors include: 4 sons, Carl Edward Dean, Jackie Lynn Dean, Ralph Earl Dean, and Robert Eddie Dean all of Salem; 2 daughters, Dawn Marie Soto and Serenda Ellen Gilstrap both of Salem; 1 brother, Jack Dean of Indianapolis; 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; former wife, Daisy Mae (Bowling) Harris.
Preceded in death: parents, Carl Dean and Minnie Forence Dean; step mother, Mary Dean; 2 grandchildren, Robert Dean Jr. and Angel Marie Soto.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Monday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Sunday and from 11:00 AM Monday until time of service at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM on Sunday. Bro. Danny Jewell will officiate. Burial will be at Franklin Cemetery.
