Richard L. Purlee age 85 of Borden, passed away on April 26, 2015 at the Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. Born on February 22, 1930 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the late Jesse Purlee and Adeline (Marshall) Purlee. Richard was an Army Veteran. He was a GM Parts Manager with 43 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Borden. Survivors include: son, Daniel L. Purlee (Robin) of Sellersburg; daughter, Debra Cruse (Dan) of Jeffersonville; 2 brothers, Bruce Purlee (Mary) of Sellersburg and Gary Purlee (Jeanetta) of Sellersburg; 2 sisters, Wanda Kay (Byron) of Arizona and Jewel Nale of Seymour; 2 grandchildren. Preceded in death by: parents and 2 brothers. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Friday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Borden. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Thursday and Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with a full Military Service.
