Ottis Stanley Wright

Ottis Stanley Wright, 79, departed to be with his Saviour on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 11:05 am. He was born on November 29, 1931 to the late Alva and Mattie (Hisler) Wright. He was the Salutatorian of the 1950 class of Borden High School, and a life-long resident of Borden. He was a loving and dedicated father and husband who also served his country in the U.S. Army. In 1962, he and his brother founded and operated Wright Brothers Oliver Sales & Services, also in Borden. Additionally, he was a life-time farmer and long-term member of the Borden Church of Christ. He is survived by his daughter, Myra Wright Powell and her husband Gregory; five nephews, Les Wright (Janet), Boyd Wright (Jaquetta), Bruce Wright (Connie) all of Borden, Jerry Wright (Rose Mary) of Columbus, IN, and Bernie Gettelfinger (Sally) of Palmyra, IN; two nieces, Connie Dietrich (Tom) of Otisco, and Janice Carter (David) of Borden; and two sister-in-laws, Grace Martin and Maysel Wright both of Borden; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife of over 40 years, Lenora (McKinley) Wright; his brother Marvin Wright; his sister, Audrey Gettelfinger; and his brother-in-laws Randall Martin and Bernard Gettelfinger. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Saturday and 2-8 pm Sunday at the Borden Church of Christ. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Monday June 27th at the church. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Borden. Brother Scott Reeder and Brother Gilbert Powell will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the "Ottis S. Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund" through the Community (Wood/Carr) Foundation or to the Borden Church of Christ. Arrangements by Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home.
