Nellie Ruth (Spears) Hoke

Nellie Ruth (Spears) Hoke, age 88, of Pekin passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Salem Crossing.  Born September 27, 1933 in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ora Spears and Virgie (Maness) Spears.

Nellie was a retired laborer with Salem Poultry and Amaray; she attended Pekin Baptist Church.

She is survived by 4 sons: Paul R. Hoke, John A. Hoke (Judy), Charles E. Hoke, and Kenny R. Hoke; 1 brother: Cairole Spears; 9 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Virgie Spears; husband, Paul A. Hoke, 9 brothers; 2 sisters, and 1 grandson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Pekin Chapel with Bro. Jerry Goodwin officiating.  Visitation will be held Monday, August 1, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.  Burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery.
