Maysel Irene (Abbott) Wright

Maysel Irene Abbott Wright, age 92 of Borden, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2013. Maysel was born on May 25, 1921 to Claude and Edna Abbott in Salem, Indiana. She married Marvin Oliver Wright on October 15, 1938. Marvin, her parents, her baby sister Helen, her brother Boyd, and daughter-in-law Jo Ann preceded her in death. Also, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bernard and Audrey Gettelfinger and Ottis and Lenora Wright. She is survived by 4 sons: Leslie (Janet), Boyd (Jaquetta), and Bruce (Connie) all of Borden, and Jerry (Rose) of Columbus, IN; 2 granddaughters and 5 grandsons: 1 great-granddaughter and 6 great-grandsons; 1 niece and 1 nephew. Maysel was a long time member of the Borden Church of Christ where she faithfully served and enjoyed cooking for church dinners. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Maysel worked for nearly 18 years at the Kimball Office Furniture in Borden. Maysel loved to cook and to be surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed traveling but found there was no place like her home in Borden. Viewing will be on June 19 from 2:00pm - 8:00pm at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Borden and prior to the funeral on June 20 from 9:00am - 11:00am at the Borden Church of Christ. The funeral will be at 11:00am at the Borden Church of Christ. Bro. Scott Reeder will officiate. Burial will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Borden. The Family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wood-Carr Community Fund or the Church of Christ of Borden Youth Ministry.
