Matthew James Atkins

Matthew James Atkins age 42, of Pekin, Indiana, passed away on March 30, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital. He was born on June 28, 1974 in Eloise, Michigan. Matthew was a Union Carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Moore Atkins of Pekin; father, Thurman Luckie Atkins of Pekin; 2 daughters, Samantha Lightfoot of South Carolina and Falicity Atkins of Pekin; 6 brothers and sisters, Donna Garner of Pekin, Rebecca Durham of Salem, Roberta Schnieders of Pekin, Carol Al-Banna of Texas, David Atkins of Pekin, and Philip Atkins of Pekin; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Mother, Judy Gale (Dix) Atkins; brother, Thurman Daniel Atkins. The memorial service will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Pekin. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM Sunday until time of service at the funeral home.
