Mary Jane Shanks

Mary Jane Shanks, age 86, of Salem Indiana passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 10:45 PM in Meadow View Health and Rehab Center of Salem. Born on February 25, 1924 in Attica, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Vern F. Haynes and Beatrice Grace (Helfin) Haynes. She married Hoyt Shanks on August 29, 1948, he procedes her in death. She was a retired Press Operator for Ferraloy after 21 years of service. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Salem. Survivors include; one son, Sam (Robin) Shanks of Salem; two daughters, Barbara J. Hewitt of Indianapolis, Indiana and Micki (Roger) Anderson of Salem; four grandchildren, Jessica (Steve) Tye, S. Brandon Shanks, Bradley H. (Jennifer) Anderson and Barry (Chastity) Anderson; five great grandchildren, Haylee Anderson, Jarrett Anderson, Kameron Tye, Drew Tye and Nathan Tye. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Friday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 11:00 AM Friday until time of service at the funeral home.
