Mark Anthony Hurst

Mark Anthony Hurst, age 72, of Pekin, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at his residence. Born on October 11, 1952 in Salem, he was the son of the late Lewis Gene Hurst and Betty J. (Blankenbaker) Hurst. On May 21, 2006, he married Madonna (Anderson) Hurst who survives.

Mark was a boilermaker for the local union.

He is survived by his wife, Madonna; 8 children: Josh Hurst, Jed Hurst, Kyle Hurst, Zachary Hurst, Jannetta Barger (Mike), Tonya Turner, Angie Miller, and Chandra Trainor (Brandon); 4 sisters: Teena Morris, Monica Tankersley, Kim Martin, and Katrice Ellis; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Betty Hurst; 1 sister: Robin Hurst; and 1 grandson: Presley Crawford.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home - Pekin Chapel. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
