Mabel Ilene (Mahuron) Bower

Mabel Ilene Bower, age 85, of Pekin, passed away on  January 28, 2014 at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Born on November 5, 1928 in Pekin Indiana, she was the daughter of Gilbert Merrett Mahuron and Minnie Elizabeth (Pixley) Mahuron. She was a Homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God in Charlestown, Indiana. Survivors include: 1 daughter, Leota Foster of Pekin; 2 sisters, Alice Caroline Brewer of Salem, and Gladys Lorene Allen of Sellersburg; 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Friday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Thursday and after 10:00 AM Friday until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Daisy Hill Cemetery. George Ross will officiate.
