Loren W. Shepherd

Loren W. Shepherd, age 82, of Salem, died Wednesday November 9, 2011 at his residence. Born on January 5, 1929 in Whitesville, Missouri, he was the son of the late John Shepherd and Agnes (Flanagan) Shepherd. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran. He retired after 30 years from the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown Indiana. Loren enjoyed family gatherings, going to farm auctions, a home cooked meal and a good argument. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth (Felker) Shepherd; 2 sons, Mark & Beverly (Richert) Shepherd and John Bruce & Patty (Sowder) Shepherd; 1 daughter, Nancy & Monty Reisinger; 1 sister, MaryAnn Newton of Oceanside, CA.; 1 sister-in-law, MaryAnn Shepherd of Denver, CO.; 14 grand children and 25 great-grand children. He was proceded in death by; parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. A Remembrance of Life gathering will be held Wednesday November 16, 2011 from 5-9 PM at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem.
