Lloyd Benson

Joseph Lloyd Benson, age 93, of Salem, died Sunday September 9, 2012 at his residence.  Born on December 1, 1918, he was the son of the late Dempsey Earl Benson and Laura (Luse) Benson. On January 26, 1941, he married Marie (Spurgeon) Benson. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Salem. He was retired from B.F. Goodrich and a retired Farmer. He was the Washington Township Assessor for several years. Survivors include: 2 sons, Danny Benson of Paoli, IN. and Gary Benson of Bradenton, FL.; 2 daughters, Trudy Benson of Salem, IN. and Sharon Wright of Palmyra, IN.; half sister, Catherine Hunt of Salem, IN.; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Proceded in death by: parents, wife. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday and after 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Stephen Fisher will Officiate.
