Lillian E (Dixon) Martin

Lillian E. Martin, age 87, of Salem, formerly of Campbellsburg, passed away on Monday July 27, 2015 in Schneck Memorial Hospital in Seymour. Born on June 4, 1928 in Medora, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late William J. Dixon Jr. and Iva Mae (Jordan) Dixon. On December 23, 1943, she married Dale Martin. Lillian was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Campbellsburg. She was a member of the Salem Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #286 and a Past Worthy Matron of the Campbellsburg Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #258. Survivors include: 2 daughters, Marcella A. Russell (Rick) of Salem, and Brenda Kay Keith (Kevin) of Indianapolis; 2 brothers, Tom Dixon of Bradenton, Florida, and Ralph Dixon of Lombard, Illinois; 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death: husband, Dale Martin; son, Marvin Martin; brother, Richard Dixon; sister, Mary Singer-Trowbridge. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Campbellsburg. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Friday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem with an Eastern Star Service at 7:00 PM, and from 9 AM Saturday until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Brother Don Mahan will officiate. Donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Christian Church or Mt. Carmel Cemetery Association.
