Laura Mae (Rutherford) Godfrey, age 93, of Salem, passed away on September 11, 2026.
Laura was born on December 25, 1932. She married Don Godfrey on March 18, 1951, and they shared 44 years together. She was a homemaker and a member of Highland United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Elaine (Jim) Green; two grandchildren, Adam Godfrey Green (Heather) and Kendall Allison Imbrogno (Michael); four great-grandchildren, Adara, Adriel, Sophie, and Callie; along with two sisters, Audra Marshall and Sandra Kay McKnight.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don Godfrey; one son, Larry Don Godfrey; and two brothers, Halbert Rutherford Jr. and Bruce Rutherford.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem with George Browning officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Hughes-Taylor was entrusted with funeral care.
