Kathleen M. (Smith) Jackson

Kathleen Jackson, age 91, of Salem, Died on July 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born to William Simon Smith and Ida Mae (Melton) Smith at Brownstown In. on June 15th 1921. She was retired from the old Bata Shoe Factory where she worked for over 15 years. She also was a correspondent for the Salem Leader & Democrat having written items for 39 years. Among them: Millport, Walnut Ridge. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1939. She married Palen Jackson on May 20, 1939, he died on September 26th 1990. She is survived by one daughter Barbara Overshiner, and 2 grandchildren Sarah & John and several relatives and friends. Proceded in death by: husband; 2 brothers, Mancil Smith and Claude Smith; 1 sister, Madaline Smith. A Private Graveside service was conducted on Tuesday at the Plattsburg Cemetery.
