John Vanlaningham

John E. Vanlaningham, age 90, formally of Salem, died at 7:15 PM Tuesday August 16, 2011 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana Hospital in Coulumbus. Born on November 15, 1920, he was the son of the late Roy Vanlaningham and Cora Pearl Mills Vanlaningham. On January 1, 1947, he married Helen Louise Ratcliff, who procedes him in death. He was a retired Machine Operator with Porter Paint. He was an Army Veteran-WWII. He was a member of the Blue River Masonic Lodge #457. Survivors include; 2 daughters, Rosemary Snider and Rita Kay Rittman both of Columbus, IN.; 1 brother, Harry Vanlaningham of Salem; 1 sister, Corean Davis of Danville, IN.; 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hardinsburg Cemetery. Tom Fultz will officiate.
