John W. Rice

John "Johnny" W. Rice, age 84, of Borden, Indiana passed away on Wednesday March 23, 2011 in Westminster Healthcare in Clarksville. Born October 3, 1926 in Fordsville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late George E. Rice and Virgie L. (Hendrix) Rice. On September 16, 1955, he married Patricia "Patty" Rice, who procedes him in death. He was a retired Machine Operator for Louisville Cement Company. He was a member of the Borden Christian Church. Survivors include; four sons, Timothy (Peggy) Rice of Memphis, Indiana, Michael Rice of Henryville, Indiana, Richard (Wanda) Rice of Roxboro, North Carolina and Donnie Rice of Clarksville; one daughter, Debbie (Larry) Fanning of New Albany, Indiana; one son-in-law, Steve Watkins of Lanesville, Indiana; one sister, Rosie (Calvin) Stucky of Fordsville, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Proceded in death by Wife, one son David Rice and one daughter Cathy Watkins, and one brother. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Monday March 28 at the Daisy Hill United Methodist Church in Borden. Viewing will be from 2-8 PM Sunday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Borden and after 10:00 AM Monday at the church. Jerry Wheeler will officiate. Burial will be at Daisy Hill Cemetery.
