Jean Smith

Norma Jean Smith of New Albany, formally of Borden, Indiana passed away Saturday October 10, 2009 at the Floyd Memorial Hospital, at the age of 86. She was born on July 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Howard Dyer and Theresa (Adams) Dyer. She married on May 24, 1941 to Harold R. Smith, who precedes her in death. She was a retired Beautician for over 30 years, and she was a teacher's Aide for over 30 years with the Borden School System. She was a member of the Borden Christian Church. Survivors include 1 Son: Terry Smith of New Albany. 3 Daughters: Judy Price of Borden, Sherry (Tom) Bauer of Indianapolis, and Angie Brewer (Paul) of Borden. 13 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandshildren. She is preceded in death by her Husband, 1 Granddaughter, and 1 Brother. The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Borden Christian Church. Viewing will be from 11:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Borden, and Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the Church. Burial will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery. Brothers Barry Shoemake & Joe Franklin will officiate.
