Iverna Rose Lewellen of Pekin, passed away Friday, August 15, 2008 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, at the age of 81. She was born on March 30, 1927 in Pekin, she was the daughter of the late John William Wilson and Catherine (Meadors) Wilson. She married L. Leon Lewellen on October 22, 1945, he precedes her in death. She was a member of the Christian Heritage Chapel, and she retired from the Washington Co. Highway Dept. She also worked for the Polk Co. School system in Haines City, FL., Purdue University, and Head Start in Scott Co. In. Survivors include: 2 Daughters Linda (Cal) Kaina of Henryville, IN. and Lora (Jon) Coles of Columbus, IN. 2 Brothers: Glen Wilson of Seymour, IN. and Ronnie Wilson of Elkart, KS. 3 Sisters: Mary Lee of Jacksonville, FL. Betty Parriott of Scottsbluff, NB. Karen Payzant of Marco Island, CA. 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband, 1 Son Jack Lewellen, 1 Daughter Leisa Lewellen, 1 Granddaughter Katherine Kaina, 3 Brothers, 1 Sister. The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday, and after 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Bunker Hill Cemetery near Salem. Brother Lonnie McNabb will officiate.
