Ira H. Hunt

Ira H. Hunt age 76, of Salem, Indiana, passed away at 1:25 AM on Sunday April 10, 2011 in Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. Born on January 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Warner Franklin Hunt and Rosa Elizabeth (Short) Hunt. On January 29, 1966 he married Ramona June (Pennington) Hunt, who procedes him in death. He was an Air Force Veteran of 13 years. He retired from GKN after 29 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Christian Church. Survivors include; 2 sons, Todd Hunt of Salem, Ronnie Pennington of Salem; 1 daughter, Mona Leonard of Salem; 1 sister, Louise Padgett of Frankfort, IN; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was proceded in death by his wife, 2 sons, 7 brothers and 4 sisters. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday and after 9:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Van Vuyovich will officiate.
