Helen L. (Thompson) Cook

Helen L. Cook, age 79, of Borden, passed away at 2:20 PM Tuesday October 18, 2011 in Providence Retirement Home in New Albany. Born on February 26, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Albert Thompson and Edith Marie (Troxel) Thompson. On August 17, 1957, she married Rudolph "Rudy" Cook, who procedes her in death. She was a retired Bookkeeper and Office Manager for the Hadley Potter Co. of Louisville, Kentucky. She was a member of the Borden Lions Club. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Borden where she played the piano for over 20 years. Survivors include; 2 sons, Rudy L. (Patty) Cook of Borden, Indiana and Troy L. (Missi) Cook of Borden, Indiana; 2 brothers, Danny Thompson of Borden, Indiana and Jerry Thompson of Salem, Indiana; 6 grandchildren. Proceded in death by; parents, husband, 1 brother and 1 sister. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Friday at the First Christian Church of Borden. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Thursday at the church, and Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church. Brother Joe Franklin will officiate. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
