Hannah Ray

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Hannah Ray, a beloved teacher, family member, friend, and follower of Christ.

Hannah was born March 5, 2000 in New Albany, the daughter of Nick Ray and Misty (Brown) Ray.

Hannah graduated from Borden High School in 2018 and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Indiana University Southeast in 2022. She fulfilled her calling as a second grade teacher at Borden Elementary School where she loved her students and was dedicated to helping them learn, grow, and feel valued.

Hannah was an active member of her church worship team where she joyfully shared her faith through music. Her love for God and others was evident in the way she lived her life each day.

Hannah is survived by her parents, Nick and Misty Ray; brother, J.T. Ray; sister, McKenna Ray; grandparents, Janet Brown (Darryl Kepley), Frank Brown (Doris Book), and Vic and Cindy Ray; and great grandfather, Theodore Bierly.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, Jeremy Brown.

Those who knew Hannah will remember her warm smile, gentle heart, and genuine compassion for others. She served her community in countless ways, always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether caring for children, watching over homes, or looking after beloved pets, Hannah was someone people could depend on and trust.

She touched the lives of many through her kindness, generosity, and servant's heart. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Borden Church of Christ with Bro. Richie Folden officiating.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 3, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Borden Church of Christ and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.  Burial to follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
