Granvle R. Holt

Granvle R. Holt, age 81, of Salem, passed away on February 27, 2015 at the St. Vincent Salem Hospital. He was born on February 25, 1934 in Kentucky. On December 21, 1957 he married Janice C. (Coffey) Holt. He was a retired Farm Manager. He was a Navy Veteran. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 41 and the VFW of Salem. Survivors include: wife, Janice C. (Coffey) Holt of Salem; son, Mike Holt of Salem; 2 grandchildren, Jeremy McCutcheon of Borden and Rusty Jo (Holt) Wisman of Pekin; 4 great grandchildren, Macie Jo Odum, Gunnar R. Odum, Gavin M. Odum and Bracie L. Jackson; 2 brothers, William Wynn Jr. of Salem and Roger Wynn of Florida; Muzetta Daulton of Medora, Evelyn Holtz of Salem and Janet McDaniel of Palmyra. Preceded in death by: parents, Rufus Holt and Dottie Callahan Wynn; son, Jim Holt; granddaughter, Jessica McCutcheon; 1 brother and 1 sister. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Friday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Thursday and Friday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
