Gloria "Faye" Morris

Gloria “Faye” Morris, 83, of Borden, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital, with her family by her side.  Born August 24, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Margaret (Rose) Smith.  Faye married her late husband, Leroy J. Morris, on August 14, 1961.

Faye was a homemaker, and a member of the Life Tabernacle Church of Salem.

Faye is survived by her 5 children: Cindy Morris, Gordon Morris, Donna Yates, Kenneth Morris, and Bev Stout; 3 brothers: Tommy Smith, Ron Smith and Darrell Smith; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Leroy; her parents, Russell and Margaret; 2 sisters: Lucile Hensley and Darlene Gray; and a brother, James Smith.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home – Pekin Chapel, with burial to follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Borden.  Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m, and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
