George Spalding

George Spalding, age 77, of Pekin, Indiana, passed away on October 21, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital. Born on October 2, 1940, in Kentucky, he was the son of the late Carl Spalding & Lena (Greene) Spalding. George was an Army Veteran. He was retired from General Electric with 20 plus years of service. He was a member of the FOP Lodge #142. Survivors include 2 sons, Michael H. Spalding & wife Debby, of Pekin, & Mark A. Spalding of Pekin; 2 brothers, Lewis Spalding of Pekin, & Alfred Spalding of Clarksville; 2 sisters, Margaret Pavey of Georgetown, & Julia Gerry of New Albany; 2 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Lena Spalding; wife, Mary (Sellmer) Spalding; 3 brothers & 3 sisters. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Pekin. Viewing will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Martinsburg Cemetery.
