Gene E. Martin

Gene E. Martin, age 90, of Borden, Indiana departed this life on March 13, 2015 at Maple Manor Christian Home after a short illness. He was born on December 13, 1924 in Borden to the late Harrison Martin and Maud McKinley Martin. Gene was a lifelong resident of Borden and served as postmaster there for 27 years. Gene served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific. He is survived by his daughter Penny (Victor) Pfau of Borden, granddaughter Rosie Pfau of Colorado Springs, Colorado, grandsons Jedediah (Christina) Pfau of New Albany, Jacob (Anna) Pfau of Indianapolis, great granddaughter Clancy Patterson of Indianapolis, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia Eileen Martin. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Borden. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Monday and Tuesday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home in Borden. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
