Gary Michael Newby

Gary Michael Newby, 73, Salem, died September 15, 2022 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany,  He was born October 8, 1948, in Indianapolis, the son of Beryle Newby and Betty Green Newby.  He was a graduate of Salem High School Class of 1966.

Gary loved the great outdoors.  He was always on the go and never met a stranger.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Cindy; and a grandson, Micah Mull.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; brother, Brian Newby, Salem; daughters, Lisa Mull (Travis), Brownstown, Michelle Marshall (Don), Salem, Nicole Taylor (Robert), Salem; son, Michael Newby (Jana), Salem; eight grandchildren, Gage and Bode Mull, Avey and Rives Marshall, Alena, Hayden and Aralynn Taylor and Remington Newby.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 20 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Salem Chapel and on Wednesday, September 21 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Scott Huffaker officiating.  Burial to follow in Blue River Friends Quaker Cemetery.
