Eugene Hughes

Eugene Hughes age 87, formerly of Campbellsburg, died at 11:50 a.m. Dec. 18, 2007 at the Meadow View Healthcare Center in Salem.He was born in Sparksville, IN.(Jackson Co.) to Virgil and Anna (Gallahan) Hughes. He married Leona Hughes on July 31, 1948. Leona preceded him in death. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church near Salem. He was a 50 year member of IOOF Lodge # 67 of Salem. He was also a graduate of Campbellsburg High School. He is survived by two sons,John (Rhonda) Hughes and Jim Hughes both of Campbellsburg. Four grandchildren; Matthew Hughes of Mitchell, Sarah (David) Fields of Salem, and lauren and Landon Snelling of Campbellsburg. One Great-grandchild Trevor James Fields of Salem. The Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem with Bro. Robert Holler officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Campbellsburg. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, and after 8:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Mt. Carmel Cemetery Association, or New Hope United Methodist Church.
