Ernest J. Motsinger

Ernest J. Motsinger, age 85, of Salem passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at his residence.  Born September 10, 1937 in Pekin, he was the son of Ernest N. Motsinger and Gertrude (Robinson) Motsinger.  On December 25, 1999, he married Patricia (Hibbs) Motsinger who survives.

Ernest was a retired Air Force Veteran and served in the Vietnam War; a self-employed contractor; member and minister of the Olive Branch Primitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Motsinger; 6 daughters: Patricia Freeman (Sam), Larita Sember (Greg), Debra Davis (Andy), Julie Cook (Bryan), Kristi Nash (Tim), and Tracy Harris; 1 sister: Mary Grigsby; 27 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest N. and Gertrude Motsinger; first wife, Myreta Motsinger; 10 brothers and sisters; 2 sons; 1 daughter, and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Olive Branch Primitive Baptist Church with Ernie Loveday and Jimmy Clemmer officiating.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.  Burial to follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.
