Elena Lee Hurst, born on June 5, 1971, went home to be with the Lord on September 8, 2026.

Elena was a loving mother, Mimi, sister, and daughter. She overcame many struggles throughout her life, found Jesus, and became a woman of strong faith. She loved reading her Bible and sharing God’s love, always striving to bring light into the lives of those around her, even during her own difficult times.

Elena is survived by her children, Shawn (Danielle) Fredericks, Tamara (Devon) Roll, and Cassidy Bobo; her mother, Elena Keagle; her beloved sister, Joanne Thompson; and her grandchildren, Kenzie, Cole, Kyah, Anniston, and Brynlee.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Tyler Hurst, and her father, John Armstrong. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with Tyler and is now at peace with the Lord.

Elena will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Big Springs Church of Christ in Pekin with Jeff Roll officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service with burial to follow at Big Springs Cemetery.
