Earl L. Stewart

Earl L. Stewart, age 91, of Borden, Indiana passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany. Born April 10, 1930 in Salem, he was the son of the late Sherman Stewart and Fern (Mantooth) Stewart. On July 22, 1972, he married Judith M. (Alexander) Stewart who survives.

Earl was an Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean War; was a retired employee of New Hope; was an avid NASCAR fan; and loved gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Stewart; 4 children: Connie Hurst (Stanley), Aundray Stewart (Tanya), Missy Chappelle (Kevin), and Calvin Stewart; 3 step children, Saundra Sajek (Jim), Pam Rutherford (Paul), and John Lovell; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 7 step grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 5 sisters, 1 grandson, 1 step son, and 1 step grandson.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 5:00 PM at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Borden Chapel. Viewing will be Wednesday from 2:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Olive Branch Cemetery with full military honors.
