Donnie Barker

Donnie Wayne Barker, age 64, of Pekin, Indiana, passed away Monday January 21, 2019 at his residence. Born on March 16, 1954 in Harlan County Kentucky, he was the son of the late Hubert Barker and Ruby (Blair) Barker.

Donnie was an Army Veteran. He worked as a  Boilermaker for 40 years, and he was a retired owner and operator of Barkers Store for 20 years. He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Penny Marie (Wilson) Barker; daughter, Valerie Barker Barnes and her husband Luke; 2 sisters, Sandy Taylor and her husband Steve, and Linda Dornbush and her husband Michael; 6 Nephews, 10 nieces, and several great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Danny and Dennis Barker.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Pekin. Viewing will be from 4-8 PM Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery with full military honors. Brother Randy Albertson will officiate.
