Donald Floyd

Donald Floyd age 87, of Salem, passed away January 9, 2011 at 11:05 AM in Meadow View Health and Rehab Center of Salem. Born on March 29, 1923, he was the son of the late Roscoe Lee Floyd and Charlotte Marion Burchett Floyd. On January 22, 1944, he married Martha M. Bagshaw, who survives. He was a Carpenter and Stone Mason by trade. He was an avid woodsman and gardener. He was a WWII Army Veteran, European Campaign. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and the VFW. Other survivers; one son, Bryce Floyd; three daughters, Donalee Beld, Valarie Bundy and Elana Floyd-Kennett; two brothers, Wallace Floyd and Wendell Floyd; two sisters, Shirley Keen and Barbara Archer; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Proceded by parents, one brother and two sisters. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem. Viewing will be from 4-8 Tuesday and after 9:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors. Brother Bob Holler will officiate.
